Most car enthusiasts like to hear about new models their favorite company is coming out with next. Those who love BMW models, such as the Chicago BMW M5, will be excited to hear that a new BMW is in the works. What makes it even more intriguing is that BMW is being very mysterious about unveiling exactly what this model will feature. But, they’re teasing us with a little information to the point that people are beginning to make predictions about some of the features this auto will have.
What BMW is stating about this secretive car is that it’s “More than a 6 series”. It’s leading car experts and enthusiasts to believe that it might be in the 6 series family, possibly an M6 model, that’s set to stand out. Some of the features are similar to BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics concept car that came into the limelight about a year ago. This concept model featured a more aerodynamic design, such as lower resistance wheels and angled headlights. Moreover, video of this mystery car shows it accelerating without any engine noise. This is most likely due to a hybrid/electric car style powerplant.
If this possible 6 series model is anything like the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car we’ve seen pictures of, it’s like nothing we’ve seen on the roads before. In fact Chicago, used for sale BMW models cannot rival the modern design it features. It looks like something that should be in a movie. The VED concept has an extremely modern aerodynamic design, plus it’s very lightweight. An awesome part of the concept’s exterior body are the butterfly doors that open up and out.
Moreover, the EfficientDynamics model gets its power from a 1.5 liter, 3 cylinder turbodiesel engine. The same engine will be installed within the next few years in 1-series autos and eventually make it’s way to 3 series models. The VED can also travel for 30 miles solely on electric power, then another 400 miles in hybrid mode. It’s clearly a concept that is the wave of the future in the automotive world.
We’ll be waiting to see exactly what this mystery car entails once it’s officially unveiled by BMW.
