The 2011 Chicago 5 Series is a sedan BMW hopes will wow auto enthusiasts all over! There are many exciting features that can be found on this auto….let’s check them out!
The 5 Series was originally released back in the 1970′s and has been one of the top revenue models for this luxury car company. In fact, I used to own a Chicago used BMW 5 Series and I can honestly say I never had any problems with it and loved driving it around!
One area that has noticeable advances over other Chicago used BMW models is the 2011′s interior. There is quite a bit more room. The trunk now has 18.7 cubic feet- something that will come in handy heading up to Lake Geneva for the weekend! Also, the backseat can more comfortably seat 3 passengers and there is less rear overhang. The materials used for the controls and control paneling are of better quality.
The Chicago 5 Series drives really well! Like the 7 Series, it will come with four-wheel steering. The BMW XDrive will be found on some 5 Series models, but the rear-wheel drive will still come as the standard option. Engine wise, there will be several options for cars sold in the US and for cars sold in other countries’ markets. All engines will come with the great power you’d expect from BMW.
Some exterior differences can be found on the 2011 5-Series. BMW is using a combination of high strength steel and aluminum. The reason for this is to reduce costs and achieve 50/50 weight distribution. Aluminum will be used mostly on the doors, trunk lid and hood. It will also have a lower, more sleek look versus Chicago used BMW 5 Series cars. The horizontal headlights and taillights with the L-shape are also very cool features!
BMW has signature safety systems that will make their way into the 2011 version. The parallel park assist system is a handy feature. It gives the driver a “top-view image for easier maneuvers in tight spaces.” The frontal collision warning will automatically apply the brakes if the car senses your speed will get you a little too close to the car in front of you!
The 2011 5-Series will be at dealerships later this year. Until then, check out a Chicago used BMW and new 2010 models at Patrick BMW.
