If you are looking for a car that looks like it belongs in a “Batman-type” movie, then Chicago BMW’s new Vision EfficientDynamics Concept car is a vehicle you must check out. This amazing car has doors that open upward, and a design that will make you want to stop and look further. In a time when many people are more conscious of our environment, the fact that this is a hybrid car makes it all the more fantastic.
Many people will ask, how did BMW manage to make it’s dynamic concept exciting? And, what makes this car a hybrid? This BMW Chicago is powered by 3 different power sources: two electric motors and a turbodiesel engine. The motors are located at each axle, allowing the vehicle to have all wheel drive while it’s in electric mode. In the front of the rear axle, one will find the turbodiesel engine. A normal car is powered by using gasoline only, but this car is powered by a total of 98 lithium power cells that can be found in the center of the BMW. This Chicago 5 Series can be charged in about 2.5 hours if the owner connects the batteries to a 220-volt 16-amp outlet. If the car is operating in only electric mode, 31 miles is the approximate distance the car can travel. If you want to cruise around or take a trip using the turbodiesel engine only, 400 miles can be driven using just over a 6.5 gallon tank.
This awesome hybrid still offers all the driving excitment that BMW offers. Since this Chicago 5 Series has a low curb weight and high power, it can reach 62 mph in just under 5 seconds. Even more impressive, engineers for the company state that it can go above 155 mph!
I hope this information has persuaded you to head out to your local Chicago BMW Dealership today and take look (and even a test drive)! You will not be disappointed.
