Let’s face it, successful musicians can have their pick of expensive homes, clothing and/or jewelry.  Cars, that’s no exception either!  The fact that the Black Eyed Peas chose the Chicago BMW X6, the ActiveHybrid, to play a part in their new music video says a lot.  This luxurious SUV can be seen in the pop group’s video for their new hit single, Imma Be Rocking That Body.

This new hybrid vehicle from BMW is an illustration of the trend that most all car companies want to follow.  That of creating cars, SUV’s and crossovers that have improved fuel economy, use electric batteries along with gasoline engines, and give off fewer emissions.  Hey, my Chicago 5 Series is great the way it is, but I wouldn’t complain if it someday came in a hybrid version!

I love the look of the ActiveHybrid.  It has a very sporty and modern design, you’ll definitely notice it on the roads.  I enjoy how the hood slopes down into the back end very elegantly. The chrome finish on the side-window door frame and door-sill trim is a nice added feature. Lastly, the metallic paint used on the body is very eye-catching.

Like the Chicago X5, the ActiveHybrid has many convenient interior features.  Both models feature HD Radio with “multicast” FM station reception and MP3 capabilities.  A good stereo system is a must for an old fashioned road trip!  The Chicago BMW X6 also has the 3-stage seated front seats.  So very nice on those cold winter mornings.  The nice wood interior trim and cargo area that is fully furnished are nice “attention to detail” amenities.

Since the ActiveHybrid is set to help the environment, it’s powertrain has to be designed in a way that will enable it to do so.  The system BMW uses is a two-mode.  There are twin electric motors that help each other power the SUV, and the gasoline engine is paired to a two-mode transmission.  The electric motors, gas engine, and transmission system work together to  power the X6.

The ActiveHybrid is definitely a great SUV to consider driving.  If you want a BMW, but aren’t sure about a hybrid quite yet, consider a Chicago 5 Series or a Chicago X5 model today.
