The very boss BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo
Right now there is a lot of excitement over the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo concept, so I thought I would gather all the information I could on it. Just as the name implies (turismo being Italian for tourer), this car is meant for long-distance driving. I, for one, can see myself taking off from Chicago, speeding through Missouri and Kansas on my way to the Rockies, enjoying the road trip in a way I never have before. No car I’ve ever been in has made Kansas or Missouri seem exciting, but I think the BMW Gran Turismo has the best shot at it.
Most cars out there operating under the turismo moniker offer two doors and fairly limited space. However, this BMW promises to be different, boasting four doors and more indoor space than you would think this sporty of a car would offer. The headroom is comparable to the BMW X5, which is to say there is plenty of it.
What I like about this car is how it seems to connect the driver to his or her surroundings while sitting inside it. As you can see from photos, it has large side windows. And the panoramic glass roof that BMW has released only in the 5-Series Touring will be included in the Gran Turismo, which will be perfect in the mountains if I ever get to take one of these beauties on any of my Rockies expeditions.
Making a long excursion even more possible is 58 cubic feet of storage space in the back, which is very impressive for the sleek profile this vehicle provides. That’s more space than a lot of bulkier SUVs provide. I feel like you can’t beat this car for a combination of style on the road and functionality. I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of one.
Dear BMW,
Understanding that excitement over your Series 5 Gran Turismo Concept is growing and that you hope to get a consumer model out before long, I was thinking a great idea would be to let some random person, maybe an outdoors-loving blogger, for instance, take a Concept Gran Turismo on a long trip to, just as an example, Rocky Mountain National Park. The real great idea would be that this person could write a short journal entry about the experience each day, maybe something like a blog. Then you could even feature this person on the website and in advertisements. And after the trip was over I could keep, I mean you could let that person keep the vehicle. Doesn’t that sound like a fantastic idea?
Sincerely,
John

Also, I love this car’s interior. The concept shows two individual rear seats. That will be an option when the Gran Turismo hits the streets, but it will come standard with a bench in the back, which means five will fit very comfortably. The whole interior exudes a very contemporary, very light ambiance. Check out the video to view the interior and exterior yourself:
